On our way home...
all packed up and heading out the door...
Mommy and babies...
A redo of our family picture. Can't have bad pictures in their baby books!
So, to be honest our first night home was a complete disaster. It was soooooo bad. The babies screamed and cried the entire night. We couldn't do anything to sooth them other than hold them, but when you haven't slept in days it's hard to hold a baby and not fall asleep. I was in pain from the csection, I was in tears because I was so tired, and poor Charles was having to do all of the work. I don't know how he held it together all night. Thankfully, Penny (our doula) was due to arrive at 10 a.m. and when she did, she told us to go right to bed and we did. After our 4 hour nap we felt much better. But man, that first night was so hard! The second night was SO much better. We stuck to the schedule and feeding amounts that Penny told us to, and the babies slept all night except for when we woke them for feeding. It was fabulous! Tonight will be their first night in the crib. Mommy is a little nervous, but thank goodness for our video monitor. We'll keep you posted. :)
i'm so glad you all came home together! i'm glad night #2 was better, i think all 1st nights must be destined to be disaster no matter what the situation. i can't imagine all the joy (and work) and happiness! i KNOW you are doing a great job! take care of yourself too!
